Self Assesment- when adversity hits, how do you usually respond?  

• #1 Is your first thought something akin to  "why does this always happen to me?".

  • This type of reaction invariably results in a subconscious feeling of despair; that the world is against you and leads to a feeling of helplessness... It is an action stopper. Why even try?  Simply put #1 sets the stage for a VERY high likelihood of failure.

• #2 Or is your first thought more like--  "Crap!... Ok, how do I fix this?"...

  • #2 Is THE success response.  Yes, it's a neutral acknowledgement that things happen.  But it's so much more...  It recognizes and affirms that a solution exists and that it is within your ability to find it and implement it.   

  • #1 is an energy vampire.  It discourages action and without action FAILURE is CERTAIN. 

  •  #2 activates confidence, hope and action...  Almost immediately you experience constructive, solution oriented ideas that race to the forefront of your consciousness.  It is these thoughts and ideas that lead to solutions and success.  

  • Lastly #2 serves as an affirmation that becomes embeded in your subconscious that in time becomes an automatic mindset that setbacks and even temporary failures are a natural part of life and not to be feared.
